Lab Technologist (Level 1)

The Fluid Life Corporation is currently seeking a Lab Technician (Level 1).

Description:

Canada's leading provider of oil analysis, The Fluid Life Corporation, requires a Lab Tech 1 to perform routine and advanced analysis on used oil, fuel and coolant samples in our Edmonton laboratory. This position will help ensure Fluid Life's customers receive quality lab results on time.

We currently require two full time permanent employees. Day shift and evening shift are available.

Responsibilities:

The candidate will be able to work well independently and take direction easily.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Performing tests on used oils, coolants, and fuels according to ASTM methods.
  • Being accountable for their contribution in achieving turnaround time goals and quality lab testing.
  • Being responsible for loading analytical instruments and auto samplers, as well as basic equipment maintenance.
  • Being able to transfer results accurately, perform data entry and identify lab supplies in need of restock.
  • Being committed to producing quality results by ensuring samples pass QC standards and running QC/ blank samples.
Educational Requirements:

The successful candidate will possess a BSc. in Chemistry or a Technology Diploma in a related field (Chemical Technology, Chemical Engineering Technology).
