This program is administered by the Fuels and Lubricants Group at the Alberta Research Council in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

The International Quality Assurance Exchange Program (IQAEP) is an interlaboratory proficiency testing program. It consists of a series of petroleum related tests, frequent exchanges of a wide range of products, and rapid report turn around times. It enables customers to monitor their laboratory equipment, test methodology, personnel, and reporting procedures to ensure they are in compliance with international quality standards.

Proficiency testing through an interlaboratory exchange program is an invaluable tool to evaluate your organization's performance in physical testing of petroleum products.

The Fuels and Lubricants group has coordinated petroleum exchanges for more than 30 years. Participants in the program have the opportunity to direct all test methods, frequency and product sources. A unique feature is the Web-based data input and report viewing. On-line reports are available one week after the closing date.

1. Homogeneous samples are packaged and distributed to participants according to ISO protocol.
2. Samples are analyzed by the participants using specified test methods.
3. Results are returned to the Fuels and Lubricants Group.
4. Results are then compiled, statistically analyzed and a detailed report is sent to the participants. Web-based reports are available.
5. Participants receive annual statistical evaluation of performance.
