A filter analysis provides comprehensive information on large particles within a system trapped by the filter element. Fluid Life looks at what type of debris is present in the filter, as well as what may be causing the debris generation.
Filter analysis is a valuable and proactive method of determining the source of debris contamination and provides our customers with the most accurate and applicable filter analysis results which are a standard part of our quality policy.
Disassembly and Visual Inspection
-
Disassembling and testing the used filtration element can give useful indicators to the condition of the system from which it was removed. An experienced technician uses visual clues and analysis data to provide an assessment of internal conditions in your equipment components.
Microscopic Analysis
- A filter analysis provides comprehensive information on large particles (over 5 microns) within a system. As these particles are large enough to be trapped by a filter, they can provide historical data on conditions within the component.
For detailed information on microscopic analysis please download X-Ray Fluorescence Spectrometry.
Digital Photographs
- Detailed high resolution photographs are taken of the filter samples. These photographs give the customer dramatic visual evidence of the wear metals and particulates inside the component. Please see Analytical Ferrography for more information.
