Fluid Life's mission is to provide the right fluid analysis accurately and on time. To remain true to our mission, Fluid Life's Edmonton and Brantford Labs are accredited to the International Organization for Standardization and the International Electrotechnical Commission (ISO/IEC) 17025 for the majority of the testing performed.
ISO/IEC 17025 certification includes the same quality management requirements as ISO 9001:2008 while at the same time demonstrating competence in analytical testing.
What does this mean to you?
Fluid Life has several procedural practices to ensure the reporting of the most accurate test results that include the following activities:
-
Ensuring instruments are performing accurately through routine calibration and subsequent checking with reference materials.
- Performance of routine preventative maintenance.
- The use of trending to identify potential problems before they happen.
- Verification of sample integrity throughout laboratory processes.
- Fluid Life requires our Senior Lab Technicians to conduct a “Human Eye” view of each sample result that is processed within Fluid Life.
- All sample results are individually inspected to ensure that the correct tests are being completed, the sample result comments stated are accurate and complete and also allows Fluid Life to take preventative measures in contacting the correct person when an abnormal result occurs.
- Fluid Life's data management system has the ability to track all information related to a sample. This is done through the accurate documentation of any and all changes made to test results or to sample information.
- Fluid Life enables the distinct review of every test result (a human eye view) by a qualified staff member before its release to the customer while applying over 7500 flagging rules as well as providing comments and flagging results that are off trend from historical data.
Fluid Life is constantly looking for ways to make its quality system better and incorporates the following in its routine activities:
-
A system to document non-conformances and opportunities for improvement.
- External Assessments to evaluate Fluid Life's adherence to the quality management and technical requirements of ISO/IEC17025. Adherence to the management requirements of ISO/IEC 17025 fulfills the management system requirements of ISO 9001:2008.
- Internal Audits of the Quality Management System and individual tests.
- Participation in an Interlaboratory crosscheck program. Test samples of unknown concentrations are sent to both Edmonton and Brantford and Minneapolis laboratories for an independent evaluation laboratory performance.
