Water contamination is a major culprit in lubrication based failures. One of the primary means which water enters a system is through the air. External breathers without any defense against moisture allow unwanted water into the system. The solution? A hygroscopic breather, which removes moisture from the air before it enters the system.

Disposable Breathers

Disposable Breathers (DC-1, DC-2, DC-3, DC-4) provide the most cost-effective means of protection. A clear body allows the user to easily recognize when the breather must be changed. The blue silica gel inside changes to a light pink color when maximum water adsorption has been reached. Three-micron filtration exceeds most industry standards.

Regular Disposable Desiccant Breathers

Des-Case breathers incorporate a proven, field-tested design. They prevent water and contaminants from entering fluid reservoirs as differential pressures occur through thermal expansion and contraction of the fluid, or during the filling or emptying process.

Nondessicant Breathers

These breathers create an impenetrable barrier against water droplets in even the harshest environments and are constructed with a rugged ABS plastic housing.

Features include:

  • Pleated element that provides a large surface area and is 99.5% efficient in blocking particles 1 µ and larger.
  • Ability to coalesce oil mist, preventing contamination of working environment (TriplePlay only)
  • Visual vacuum indicator option actuates before maximum restriction is reached.
  • Easy installation requires hand tighten only.
