FLUID LIFE’S UNIFIED CONDITION MONITORING DELIVERS REDUCED MAINTENANCE COSTS, MAXIMIZES PERFORMANCE, AND IMPROVES MACHINE RELIABILITY.
Edmonton, AB – July 26, 2019 – Fluid Life, a leading provider of equipment reliability solutions and lubrication analysis, is excited to announce the launch of its one-of-a-kind machinery health monitoring system known as Unified Condition Monitoring (UCM). With UCM, customers can now be informed about what’s happening with their mobile assets every minute of every day and can radically increase fleet reliability while reducing costs.
UCM integrates multiple sensor technologies, like telemetry, vibration, oil condition and operational data, with lab analyzed data to provide overall machine health status. This is done via a Fluid Life telematics module which is installed on each machine asset to extract sensor data and upload it to Fluid Life’s myLab cloud. The module can read data from existing OEM sensors, plus additional sensors can be added to monitor temperature, pressure, wear debris, and oil cleanliness, quality and viscosity.
Within Fluid Life’s myLab application, geo-spatial positioning, operating mode and direction of travel data is gathered from telemetry sensors and combined with additional tracked parameters from oil condition sensors. Over time, the system learns what is “normal” for all assets and parameters. Telematics and oil analysis data are then correlated and available in one unified display within myLab enabling customers to monitor a single machine asset or make fleet comparisons. UCM also automatically calculates and sends out email alerts for abnormal conditions compared to the normal baseline.
“UCM provides a fusion of telemetry and condition monitoring data that helps our customers make better reliability decisions and save money,” said Jeff Keen, Vice President – Information Technology of Fluid Life. UCM provides these additional benefits to customers:
- Detection of machine fault conditions and real-time data on critical oil properties.
- Integrated machine health reports providing a more balanced, comprehensive and useful assessment.
- Better alignment of a customer’s condition monitoring programs with failure modes and machine criticality.
- Low infrastructure costs (no expensive mesh or satellite communications required).
- Universal application for any brand of equipment.
- Full customer access to all raw telemetry data.
The goal, as with all of Fluid Life’s programs, is to radically improve the overall asset reliability for customers that face significant challenges converting condition-based monitoring efforts into sustainable money savings programs. From analysis and evaluation to planning and strategy, Fluid Life has the expertise to help customers achieve a higher level of reliability.
