Course Description

The Oil Monitoring & Data Interpretation (OMA I Prep) course is designed for technical personnel responsible for lubricating and maintaining machinery, as well as individuals who are charged with reading and interpreting oil analysis results. Along with learning the fundamentals of oil analysis and contamination control, this course also includes a section on data interpretation.

Topics Include: Sampling, Application/Test Methods; Data Interpretation; Troubleshooting; Lubrication Fundamentals

This course will include a review of each section to reinforce the grasp of the subject material, as well as a tour of our Edmonton laboratory.

Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers (STLE) Certification (Optional)
Taken as a supplement to the recommended reading, this course follows and reinforces the STLE Exam Topics for the Oil Monitoring Analyst I (OMA I) Certification exam. The goal is to help each participant successfully achieve the OMA I certification by aiding in their preparation effort.

An STLE proctored exam session will be hosted on May 11, 2017 at 1:00 pm. You can register online directly with STLE, and are welcome to challenge any of the STLE certification exams. Exam cost is separate and additional to the course.
