The Machine Lubricant Analyst (MLA) Level I live in-class public course is aimed at plant or shop technicians responsible for lubricating and maintaining machinery, whose daily activities consist of oil sampling, contamination control, handling, receiving and storing lubricants, oil changes, and basic machine condition monitoring.

Topics
- A thorough review of sample points, procedures and tools for taking representative oil samples.
- Best practices for contamination control, handling of lubricants, and filtration fundamentals.
- An in-depth look at the core functions of lubricants, lubricating films, oil and grease properties, base oil groups, and additives
- An introduction to the various fluid test methods and application.
- Maintenance strategies, preventive and predictive maintenance, including the role of effective lubrication, oil analysis and technologies, lube routes and scheduling, and equipment tagging and identification.

This course will include a review of each section to reinforce the grasp of the subject material. 24 hours total training time.
Dates: November 25-27, 2025 with optional exam November 28th
Time: 9:00 am MST to 4:00 pm MST (11:00am EST – 6:00pm EST). Includes 30 minutes for lunch with two 15-minute breaks. Exam will start 9:00am November 28th.
Meals: Breakfast, lunch and snacks included on training days.
Location: Fluid Life Edmonton Training Centre (3rd Floor, 4371 Savaryn Drive SW, Edmonton, AB T6X 2E8)
Optional: Certification Exam Registration MLA I (to request Fluid Life to register participants for the certification exam with the ICML, add the Certification Exam to the shopping cart for each participant)
Notes:
- Attendees are responsible for all costs associated with their travel and accommodations. Recommended accommodations: Sandman Signature Edmonton South
- Minimum of 15 participants are required for the course to run. If cancelled, alternate training arrangements would be made. Travel insurance is recommended.
- CANCELLATION: No refund if cancelled within 48 hours of start date or no-show. 15% fee off invoice amount charged for cancellations within 1 week of start date.
- DIETARY RESTRICTIONS: Please advise any dietary restrictions a minimum of 2 weeks prior to event so appropriate catering can be arranged.
