Triggered Coolant Testing for Pre-Paid Jars
Thirty to fifty percent of all engine problems can be caused by issues with the cooling system. Coolant analysis helps to maintain cooling system efficiency and identify potential problems before they lead to premature engine failures.
Importance of Coolant Testing
To prevent unscheduled downtime, coolant testing helps to predict problems before they turn into serious issues. Common issues related to coolant are:
- Loss of heat transfer leads to engine overheating.
- Corrosion, and damage to engine and cooling system components
- Catastrophic and rapid failure of engine (ex. coolant ingress)
Triggered Coolant Testing
If you currently do not test coolant, but purchase a Qualifying Oil Analysis Prepaid Test Package, you have the option to submit coolant samples using the same prepaid jar. This program makes it easier for you to start a new coolant testing program without needing to manage a separate pre-paid test package specific to coolant.
How the Program Works
If you currently purchase a qualifying prepaid package, you can send in a coolant sample in the same jar which will trigger one of two coolant testing packages:
- Basic: Tests include Appearance, Conductivity, pH, Refractive Index (freeze/boil point)
- Standard: Tests include Appearance, Conductivity, Nitrites, pH, Refractive Index (freeze/boil point)
When registering the coolant sample online, select the coolant component related to the Unit. Otherwise, indicate the sample is a coolant to trigger the correct testing for the prepaid package.
There are no additional billing or administration charges unless you request additional testing beyond the approved oil analysis or coolant testing for that prepaid jar.
