Sample Re-Testing Policy

Fluid Life operates an ISO 17025 quality system, which means that any result that has been released has passed QC (Quality Control). Having the lab re-test a sample can be a useful technique for confirming a problem, or understanding the reproducibility of a test.

Fluid Life can re-test a sample after results have been completed (upon request), provided

  • We still have the sample on hand (NOTE: samples are normally disposed of after 5 business days, with some exceptions).
  • We still have sufficient sample remaining.
  • Sample is suitable for instrumentation.

Re-Test Costs

Additional costs may apply.

  • A form of payment (i.e., credit card, PO#) is required prior to Fluid Life re-testing the sample in question.
  • If test results show ‘significant’ deviation from prior results, Fluid Life reserves the right to waive charges.

What is Involved in a Re-test

Re-testing may take on many forms:

  • A new sample is submitted for similar testing (this is the most common approach).
  • The lab can re-run the exact same test (at the same facility) more than once.
  • The lab can re-run the exact same test (at a different facility).
  • The lab can run secondary tests which may support or contradict the previous test results.

Please contact Fluid Life to discuss the best option for your situation.
